Equality For All, can it exist ??
Well after something I witness with my own two eyes I can't really say for sure ..
A good friend (who is currently a pre-op) and I were at a local GLBT club in Erie ...
When we were sitting at the bar she turned to me and told me she had to use the ladies room.
As soon as she went to the ladies room
It was no sooner than she did,
A group of lesbians who started to complain that she (my friend) was in the woman's room.
( yes its was the age old question which bathroom was she supposed to use)


Well they weren't in the bathroom when she went in
But they had seen her walk in and decided
ok lets start some trouble ..
My friend had already gotten permission to use the ladies room from the bar owner .
In the mean time the other lesbians in the group tried
to agitate the bartender so much that he had to get the bar owner
The bar owner talked to my friend about the bathroom
and said she couldn't do that.
As of current date the situation has a temporary solution
that the owner has included in the policy of the bar,
and he has developed a "work around solution" to the problem.
I guess its a small start in the right direction.

However every time it seems there is this one lesbian
that still tries to start problems with my friend or any one that knows us ..

It was after I wrote this story Equality For All (about August 2001)

That I realized Equality For All may still be a long shot before it can become a reality
We have to rid our own GLBT community of the prejudice..
Before we can hope to be "accepted" by the rest of the world
and until that happens and the GLBT community unites together
than it will be a long time before
some of the dreams we have even become possible..
Yes I 'am a transsexual as well ,
and no I don't have any problems with lesbians
or anyone else for that matter,
My aunt is lesbian and her and I have a great time talking about the issues
and other things..
As far as me,
Well I am currently dating that Friend of mine,
who is a TG (mentioned in this story),

I just wonder what the local GLBT community will have to say on my current love and I .
Who cares I have found happiness:)

Update: The friend I was dating in this story left me on Nov 13 2001
for other reasons like partying and drugs..
However I have another TG person as a friend
and came down to visit Cleveland Ohio during the Holidays.
Well needless to say the same attitude exists here as well,
Some of the Girls at a local bar here in Ohio,
Lydia's have seemed to turned their back on my friend,
and seem to have segregated the bathrooms as well
One is for "real ladies" and the other is combined for ladies and men ...
What's up with that ???
Now being a Trans woman myself it really has come to my attention,
that there seems to be a lot of fighting and prejudice still with us in our own communities.
Its very sad.
Will things ever change ?
Again this reporter would like to know..
Can and will Equality For All, ever exist ??
